ISLAMABAD, Dec 9 (INP): The two-day exhibition of China’s intangible cultural heritage held in Lahore’s art gallery, where a large number of art enthusiasts gathered, Gwadar Pro reported on Friday.

The Chinese Consulate in Lahore organized the exhibition, which was themed “Chinese Culture and Traditional Crafts.”

On the occasion, Zhao Shiren, Chinese Consul General in Lahore, stated that “the exhibition is a stater of promoting deeper cultural harmony among the peoples of Pakistan and China because the more we are integrated knowing each other’s heritage, craftsmanship, culture, as well as intangible intellectual wealth, the better we will be doing in lockstep.”

In order to strengthen such a cultural bond between Pakistan and China, the consulate will continue to hold such thematic exhibitions in the future, he added.

He stated that next year will be the China-Pakistan Year of Tourism and Exchanges, and that China will host the Gandhara Art Exhibition in Beijing.

“I hope that this small exhibition will serve as a good starting point for the China-Pakistan Year of Tourism and Exchanges, and that our people’s hearts will beat together,” he said.

“Cultures are diverse, and civilizations differ.

They are not, however, designed for conflicts or confrontation. Cultures and civilizations’ ultimate goal is dialogue, tolerance, peaceful coexistence, harmony, and shared growth.

Diversity encourages interaction between civilizations, which promotes mutual learning and understanding. I hope that this exhibition will properly serve the purpose of consolidating our traditional friendship and further strengthening our bilateral cooperation and partnership,” he said.

He thanked Pakistan (China) Shandong Chamber of Commerce and Alhamra Arts Council for their contribution. On the occasion, former foreign minister Khurshid Kasuri, IIRMR chairman Muhammad Mehdi, President Yasir Habib Khan, former diplomat, officials of China Overseas Association and other dignitaries participated in the exhibition.
