Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) kicks off Azadi March in Chiniot today, the long march after making two stops in Gujrat it will keep moving towards Islamabad.
PTI General Secretary Asad Umar was welcomed by supporters at Bhutto Colony in Chiniot. The PTI Twitter account shared pictures of the PTI leader being welcomed by the crowds with a shower of petals.
PTI leader Faisal Javed Khan shared the locations where Imran Khan’s address will be streamed via a video link.
He tweeted that Imran’s speech will be screened in Gujrat district’s Sarai Alamgir, Chiniot, Swabi and Upper Dir.
He also remarked that supporters participated in the long march in Mandi Bahauddin and Jaranwala yesterday in “record numbers”.
Meanwhile Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed shared a video message on Twitter to announce that Imran Khan’s long march would receive “a historic welcome” at Rawalpindi’s Committee Chowk.
He said that Imran would hopefully finalise the date of his arrival at Committee Chowk today.
He further said that an emergency meeting of all focal persons would be called at 2pm on Nov 18 (Friday) to finalise the preparations.
Rashid also said that Lal Haveli — his political office — would be made the long march’s emergency camp office.
it is worth mentioning here that PTI chair relaunched political march on November 10 after surviving a gun attack.
