ISLAMABAD, Nov 01, (INP-WealthPK): The deadline for the filing of tax returns should be extended till 30th of December, 2022, the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) has demanded from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

According to the President of the LCCI Kashif Anwar, Senior Vice President Chaudhry Zafar Mahmood and Vice President Adnan Khalid Butt, the date for the filing of tax returns is too short. The businessmen and industrialists should be given enough time to gather resources for a viable response to the demands of the FBR.

Amendments in the Income Tax Rules of 2002 has made possible that forms for filing tax returns in Urdu should be made available. This has, however, still not yet materialized. FBR should make true on its promises and a form in Urdu should be made available for the year 2022, although the business community will take time to understand and fill those forms.

They said that filing of returns before October 31, 2022 will not be possible since many businessmen faced a lot of problems because of the tanking economy and bad business environment. They also said that an extension in the date of filing of returns would not only facilitate the business community but also send a very positive signal about private-public sector liaison.
