ISLAMABAD, Nov 01, (INP-WealthPK): Direct flights between Indonesia and Pakistan are very important since both countries have a lot of tourism potential. The two countries have a combined population of more than 500 million people. If both countries start trading with each other a lot of new avenues will open-up for economic and developmental purposes.
The statement was made by the Indonesian deputy Minister for Tourism and Economic Creativity, Ni Made Ayu Marthini. “Both countries are in dialogue to explore new trading opportunities. We need to learn from the best practices in tourism of each other. We can together build up a very healthy and profitable environment. Bali and other areas are being developed by the government for tourism,” she said while talking to media.
“Both domestic tourists and foreign tourists are very important for this industry. This is the reason that we want direct flights between Pakistan and Indonesia so that Pakistani tourists can come to Bali. Indonesian people also want to come to Pakistan. Culture is an important part of economic development. We are trying to preserve and present our culture to foreign tourists. They love it. Creativity and innovation are important for any industry to flourish. We need to unleash our creative potential to make the most of opportunities, presented by the tourism industry,” she continued.
“Our government has decided to develop 10 places on high priority notice. Five of these 10 are on Super priority. We will introduce modern facilities in these places to help foreign tourists. We are also working on 50 such villages where international tourists can be attracted and from where the culture and civilization of Indonesia can be made known to the world,” she said.
“It is important that technology and digital infrastructure is used to make tourism a modern industry. Also, while developing this industry the needs of sustainability should also be kept in mind. Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world. It has Sabang in Aceh to Merauke in Papua, which consists of thousands of small and large islands connected by sea straits. According to geological data Indonesia has as many as 17,504 islands. Indonesia has more oceanic area than land area. Area under land is 1.91 million square kilometres, whereas its area under oceans is 6.279 million square kilometres,” she continued.
“Indonesia is a huge natural reserve. Both in the land and under the sea, it’s majestic. It has very warm beaches some of which are categorized as the most beautiful beaches on Earth. Hundreds of thousands of tourists descend on them every year. Among others Senggigi Beach in Lombok, Kuta Beach in Bali, and Bunaken Beach in Manado, have their own value. Because of its natural beauty, Indonesia has become a tourist destination that is much coveted by both local and international travellers from around the world,” she added.
