PTI Chairman Imran Khan addresses his supporters on the fourth day of his party’s long march to Islamabad. PTI Chairman Imran Khan is leading the long march toward Islamabad with the party and the government still at loggerheads.
In his message to “those with power”, PTI chief Imran Khan said a country’s “establishment never stands against the nation”.
“To those who let this group of robbers (an obvious reference to the country’s rulers) be imposed on us, I am giving a message with due respect: For God’s sake, listen to the nation’s voice,” he urged.
Referring to his win in recent by-polls, he added, “See where the nation is standing. The country’s establishment never stands against the nation because they strengthen the country together.”
He stressed that the country would strengthen when its institution would strengthen. “And institutions strengthen when the nation stands by it”.
This is the PTI chair’s second march towards Islamabad after he was ousted via a no-confidence motion earlier this year.
The political instability in Pakistan has also fuelled economic uncertainty, with international rating agencies questioning if the current government can maintain difficult economic policies in the face of political pressure and looming elections.
