ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (FD): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday appreciated the sacrifices rendered by the police in fighting terrorism and crime in the country.
He was attending the 48th passing out parade of the Specialized Training Program (STP) Batch of the police service of Pakistan. He is the first premier to attend the ceremony in more than a decade.
Police gave a guard of honor to the prime minister on the occasion.
He emphasized the need to protect citizens from terrorist and criminal elements through technical and other expertise.
History will remember your [police] contributions to establishing peace in the country, he added.
“Make the counter-terrorism department of Islamabad an example for other provinces to replicate,” he said while addressing the police officials attending the ceremony.
