ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (INP-WealthPK): Land acquisition for constructing the 30 km Dir Motorway has begun and a committee has been constituted to ensure the timely completion.
This was stated in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan to review the progress on mega road projects in the province, said a press release received by WealthPK.
The initial survey for the entire length of the proposed motorway has been completed, the minister was informed. As per the initial tentative allotment, the overall length of the Dir Motorway is 30 km, having four lanes and two tunnels.
The meeting was also briefed about the progress made so far on the Dir Motorway, Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway, Swat Motorway Phase 2, Madyan Bypass, Bahrain Bypass and other mega projects in the road network sector.
Regarding the 365 km Peshawar-DIKhan Motorway, the meeting was informed that it will have 6 lanes, 19 interchanges and two tunnels – one in Dara Adam Khel and the other in Karak District.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the provincial government is working on connecting all districts of the province through motorways. This will not only provide quality transportation facilities for the public but will also provide a conducive environment for business activities to make the province a transit center for trade, he added.
The chief minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure the completion of all ongoing public welfare projects within the stipulated time and made it clear that there would be no compromise on delay. He said that only those projects that are fully completed on the ground will be inaugurated.
