Imports of mobile phones down by 67.62%

ISLAMABAD, October 21, (INP-WealthPK): The imports of mobile phones have seen a drastic decrease of 67.62% in the first quarter of the current fiscal year i-e 2022-23 in comparison to the same period last year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

During the first quarter of the current fiscal year i-e July-September (2022-23), the imports of mobile phones stood at USD 160.271 million, against USD 494.960 million in the same period of last year, showing a decrease of 67.62%.

The imports of mobile phones also decreased on a year-on-year basis by 72.06% in the month of September 2022. During the month of September, 2022, the imports of mobile phones stood at USD 58.407 million while in September 2021, they stood at USD 209.013 million.

On a month-on-month basis, the imports of mobile phones decreased by 7.38 % during September 2022, as compared to the imports of USD 63.060 million during August 2022, according to the data.
