Arid University has reduced the Petrol Quota of officers by 40%

In view of the ongoing inflation in the country and especially the continuous rise in the prices of petroleum products, Vice Chancellor PMAS-Arid Agricultural University Rawalpindi Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman called an urgent meeting in which the high officials of the university participated. The meeting decided to reduce the petrol quota of all officers by 40% while adopting austerity measures due to inflation and increase in prices of petroleum products.

The Vice Chancellor said that we should further restrict all our outdoor activities and this should be done through video link or online instead of going as far as possible. Out of urgency, only those officers have been provided with vehicles for transportation, most of whose work is from out of the university. The meeting also approved further increase in fares for paying of university vehicles.

At the same time, the Vice Chancellor directed Transport Officer to stop the supply of vehicles for tourist trips of the students for the time being. However, Vehicles for educational or research tours should be provided in case of urgent need after verification by the competent authority. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman further said that the country is currently going through a severe economic crisis so besides petroleum we have to adopt more austerity in our other lifestyles as well. In this difficult time, we all have to make important decisions to support the national economy.
