NEW DELHI, May 22 (ABC): Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has accused star Indian batsman Virat Kohli of promoting nepotism in Indian cricket team as a captain.
Indian media reported Sehwag as saying that Kohli, being a captain, did not give chances to ‘future stars’. He said Kohli supported some players while completely ignored others.
Terming current Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) Chairman Sarov Ganguli as a better captain than Kohli, Sehwag said Ganguli formed a new team. He said Ganguli brought ‘future stars’ like himself (Sehwag), Harbajhan and many others and gave the full essential support.
Former India batter said a ‘best captain’ is the one who forms a new team, supports his/her players and provokes them to fight and win.
