Money laundering case: I have saved billion of rupees of the nation: PM

LAHORE, May 21 (ABC): Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif has said while giving statement in the court during the hearing of money laundering case against him he has saved billion of rupees of the nation and he  was proved  innocent in investigation at UK.

Rs 16 billion money laundering case came up for hearing before Special Court central Lahore Saturday.

PM Shahbaz Sharif and Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Hamza Shahbaz appeared in the court.

PM Shahbaz Sharif said on the rostrum during the hearing of the case UK team investigated the matter at the stance of former PM Imran Khan but he was proved innocent in the investigation held in UK

I had come to Pakistan in 2004. If I had money earned through unfair means then why I would have come to Pakistan. I saved billion of rupees of the nation.

He said NAB and NCA held investigations and NCA got nothing  during its about 2 years investigation. I was not their relative. Corruption of not a single pie was detected by them. Had I committed corruption then I would not have been before this court.
