ISLAMABAD, May 21 (ABC): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged business community to focus on growth of export-oriented sectors like Information Technology and agriculture related industry.
He was chairing a meeting of a group of business community in Karachi to figure out a way forward to cope with the financial challenges facing the country.
The Prime Minister promised to develop Export Industrial Zones in all parts of the country where exporters would be provided facilities like necessary infrastructure and effective One Window Operation to resolve their problems.
Shehbaz Sharif also emphasized upon the need to develop solar and wind energy sectors for production of green and renewable energy. He said Pakistan cannot afford to spend twenty billion dollars annually on oil import.
Highlighting the government’s decision to ban import of luxury and nonessential items, he said it would save four billion dollars annually which is sufficient to finance annual import of palm oil.
