Violation of code of conduct won’t be tolerated, ECP warns Punjab govt

ISLAMABAD, July 2(ABC): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday made it clear to the Punjab government that the violation of the code of conduct during the by-elections 2 constituencies of the province will not be tolerated.

It may be recalled that by-elections in 20 constituencies will be held in the province on July 17 for which PML-N and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates are campaigning vigorously. Meanwhile, the commission has received various complaints regarding the violation of code of conduct.

On the other hand, an important meeting was held in the Punjab Secretariat on the arrangements and security during the by-elections under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja. DG Rangers Punjab and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.
