$22 billion FDI made in 42 power generation projects

ISLAMABAD, Dec 13 (INP-WealthPK) — About 22 billion dollars in foreign direct investment (FDI) has already been made through the commissioning of over 42 power generation projects based on various fuels and technologies.

Private Power Infrastructure Board (PPIB) has completed these multi-billion-dollar projects with a combined power capacity of 19,261 MW, an official told WealthPK.

In addition to these power producing projects, $1.65 billion was invested in the construction of a mega high voltage direct current transmission line, and $688 million went toward the Jamshoro power plant.

In a similar manner, international investors have invested $1.604 billion in development of wind and solar power plants during the past 10 years in Pakistan.
