ISLAMABAD, November 8 (INP-WealthPK): At least 647 registry offices will be opened across the country for conducting fresh surveys for the social protection programs.
Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) will be partnering up with National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to get fresh statistics and to include more women in the social protection fold, according to a press release received by WealthPK.
Both departments have reached an agreement to that end, said the press release. It stated that updated information about the size of households will be gathered in addition to including more women in the program.
Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Shazia Marri said that, “the partnership between BISP and NADRA is a step forwards in expanding the domain of BISP. We will get fresh statistics and information about the new and existing beneficiaries of the program.”
The press release read that under the agreement, NADRA will provide information for new registrations in order to provide financial support to the needy families.
It continued, “a new survey will be used to re-enroll eligible women who were dropped from the programme, and no deserving family will be denied financial support.”
Speaking at the event, Chairman of NADRA stated that the dynamic registry program’s goal is to conduct a fresh survey of the 3.5 crore new applicants, and households that have already registered.
According to him, the dynamic registry program will update applicants’ marital status, disability, family information, and biometrics in accordance with the NADRA database.
He said, “with the use of an updated database, the dynamic registry system will also detect undesired inclusion or exclusion issues.”
Under the agreement, NADRA will provide data for new registration to provide financial assistance to the deserving families.
Those eligible women who were excluded from the system will be re-enrolled in BISP on the basis of fresh survey and no deserving family will be deprived of financial assistance.
Addressing the ceremony, Chairman of NADRA said that the aim of the dynamic registry is to ensure re-survey of 3.5 crore new applicants and already registered households.
He said that the marital status, disability, family details and biometric of applicants will be updated as per NADRA database through dynamic registry.
The dynamic registry system will also identify undesirable inclusion or exclusion errors with the help of database.
