ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (INP-WealthPK): Pakistan got $179.940 million by providing transportation services to various countries during the first two months of the current fiscal, WealthPK reports.
According to the Pakistan Burau of Statistics (PBS), the country’s export of transport services increased by 104.55% and reached $179.940 million in July and August of 2022 from $87.940 million during the same period of the previous year.

On a year-on-year basis, Pakistan’s export of transport services increased by 89.44% and reached $89.020 million in August 2022 from $46.990 million during the same month of last year.
Similarly, the export of transport services decreased by 2.09% on a month-on-month basis and dipped to $89.020 in August 2022 as compared to $90.920 million in July 2022.

The export of sea transport services witnessed an increase of 516.60% in the first two months of the current fiscal and $62.400 million from $10.120 million during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
Among the sea transport services, the export of freight services increased by 621.75% and reached $42.800 million from $5.930 million in the previous year whereas the export of other sea transport services also witnessed an increase of 367.78% and reached $19.600 million from $4.190 million.
On a year-on-year basis, Pakistan’s export of sea transport services increased by 478.14% and reached $30.410 million in August 2022 from $5.260 million during the same month of the previous year.
On the other hand, sea transport services exports decreased by 4.94% and dipped to $30.410 million on a month-on-month basis in August 2022 as compared to $31.990 million in July 2022.
The export of air transport services rose by 49.44% and went from $75.890 million in the last year to $113.410 million in the first two months of the current fiscal.
Among the air transport services, the export of passenger services increased by 53.47% and reached from $49.490 million to $75.950 million whereas the export of freight services surged by 80.20% from $4.090 million to $7.370 million. In addition, the export of other air transport services increased by 34.87% from $22.310 million to $30.090 million.
On year-on-year basis, export of air transport services increased by 38.85% and reached $56.360 million in August 2022 from $40.590 million during the same month of the previous year. The export of air transport services decreased by 1.21% on a month-on-month basis in August 2022 as compared to $57.050 million in July 2022.
Meanwhile, the export of road transport services from the country during the first two months of the current fiscal witnessed an increase of 358.18% and reached $2.520 million from $0.550 million in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
Among the road transport services, the export of freight services decreased by 180% and dipped to $0.840 million during the first two months of the current fiscal from $0.300 million in the same period of last year while the export of postal and courier services increased by 14.18% and reached $1.610 million from $1.480 million.
On a year-on-year basis, the export of road transport services increased by 233.33% and reached $1.200 million in August 2022 from $0.360 million during the same month of the previous year.
The export of road transport services from the country decreased by 9.09% and dipped to $1.200 million in August 2022 from $1.320 million during July 2022.
On year-on-year basis, export of postal and courier services increased by 34.62% and reached $1.050 million in August 2022 from $0.780 million during the same month of the previous year, according to the PBS data available with WealthPK.
