ISLAMABAD, October 19 (INP-WealthPK): The country has witnessed an increase of 97.36% in the exports of tobacco products in the second month of the current fiscal year (2022-23) as compared to the same month of last fiscal year (2021-22).
In August of 2022, the exports of tobacco were around USD 10,253,000 while in the same month last year they were USD 5,195,000.
Overall the exports of vegetables also saw an increase from last year. The data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics showed that vegetable exports increased by 53.13% over the same month of the last year. They were USD 57,717,000 in the second month of this fiscal year while last year they were USD 57,717,000.
Meanwhile, meat and meat preparations exports also increased by 32.71%. The exports of the same were recorded at USD 65,754,000 during the current fiscal year while exports during the same period of last year were USD 49,547,000.
As for the exports of all food items, their exports increased by 26.29%. They were worth USD 189,257,000 in the period under review of the current fiscal year. During the same month of last year, they stood at USD 149,864,000.
