Miftah Ismail announce withdrawal of tax after holding talks with traders’ bodies

ISLAMABAD, August 4(ABC): Finance Minister Miftah Ismail announced on Thursday that the government has agreed to the demands of the traders’ bodies and withdrawn the fixed tax regime for this fiscal year 2022-23.

“As per all trader bodies demands and instructions from leadership, [Power Minister] Khurrum Dastagir Khan and I sat today and we have deiced that fixed tax regime has been withdrawn for this year,” said the finance minister in a video statement posted on his ministry’s Twitter account.

Dastagir said that the system, which was being used in the last fiscal year 2021-22, will remain in place for the next three months, adding that they will sit again with the representative bodies of traders to see if it can be improved.
