MUMBAI, July 14(ABC): Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, an accused in the murder case of Sidhu Moosewala, reportedly revealed during interrogation that he was plotting to kill Salman Khan in 2018, Indian media reported.
According to a report by the Time of India, Bishnoi is believed to have told officials that his community members will not forgive Salman, unless he “apologises for killing blackbuck”, which is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community. HGS Dhaliwal, Special Commissioner, Special Cell, Delhi Police told us, “Something to this extent had come up during the investigation.”
Delhi Police officials earlier confirmed that two attempts were made to kill Salman in 2018-19. Just days after Moosewala’s murder, Salman and father, Salim Khan, had received a threat letter, that read: “Salim Khan, Salman Khan Bahut Jald Aapka Moose Wala Hoga…” Mumbai police confirmed Bishnoi gang’s involvement in the letter. Earlier this month, a lawyer representing Salman had also alleged he received a death threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. An FIR was filed, and police said they had initiated an investigation into the letter’s authenticity.
